The Lady Bison Take on Sectionals

The Benton Central Varsity Volleyball team had a very successful regular season. They held a record of 26-4 and were undefeated in the Hoosier Conference, winning all 5 games they played. They won the conference tournament by defeating Hamilton Heights in the championship game.

The Bison received their sectional draw on Sunday, October 13th. They will play the winner of Seeger and Rensselaer, two teams they have already beaten in the regular season. If the Bison win that game, they will advance to the sectional championship. They will play Delphi, North Montgomery, or Western Boone in the championship game, depending on pool play. The Bison believe they can defeat any of these teams and have a great shot at winning the sectional tournament.

We asked senior Catie Musser how she feels about sectionals, and she said,” I think we have a pretty good shot. We have beaten most of these teams before, but our biggest competitor is Western Boone.” Western Boone is a respectable team with a record of 20-5.

Hi! I'm Hunter Sisson, and I'm a Senior at Benton Central. I am involved with Stampedia since I started taking marketing class. I'm also involved in National Honor Society. I am a 4 year varsity letter winner for basketball. A fun fact about me is I have played basketball in 13 different states.

Tanner Pitstick, Sports Writer

I'm Tanner Pitstick, a sophomore at BC. I am taking Marketing Fundamentals which is how I'm involved with Stampedia. I play football, wrestle, and play baseball. A fun fact about me is that I had ACL reconstruction surgery.

Owen Jessie, Sports Writer

Hi! I'm Owen Jessie and I'm in 10th Grade. I am taking the Marketing class, which is how I'm working with Stampedia. I am involved in LifeTeen at my Church and I enjoy watching football or basketball in my free time. A fun fact about me is that I am the shortest person in my class.

Sienna Holscher, Yearbook Sports Editor

My name is Sienna Holscher and I'm a junior at Benton Central. This is the first year I'm a part of the Stampedia and Digital Design, although I'm going on my 5th year with the yearbook! I'm also involved with the student council as head of the Homecoming Committee, CAAP, and CAAP Advisory Board. I do varsity cross country, wrestling, and track. I enjoy photography as that's what got me into the yearbook 7th-grade year. My mom studied art and design in college and taught me how to use a camera when I was younger. She saw there was a yearbook callout and she told me I should give it a try. Now, it's one of my biggest passions. My favorite thing is to take pictures at sports events and out of all the sports, football is my favorite to photograph. A fun fact about me is I want to go to Florida Gulf Coast University and study shark biology!
