The PHOENIX Literary Arts Magazine sponsored acclaimed children’s author and TedTalk speaker Shannon Anderson to spend the day on Thursday, October 17th with Ms. Sandy Herre’s writers, juniors and seniors, the Little Prairie Preschool, and Ms. Kingery’s class.
What an AWESOME day we all experienced with Shannon. She facilitated watercolor thumbprint poetry with the writers and seniors. She gave four inspiring presentations about growth mindset and goal setting to Ms. Herre’s juniors. We visited the preschool (Goldilocks & The Three Bears Rap). Shannon read “Do-It-Yourself Dollhouse” to Ms. Kingery’s students. They cheered when she entered the room. Shannon met “Hank,” the BC therapy dog (golden doodle), and she read to them. They made cards for her about their favorite “Shannon book.” Ms. Herre has read seven of Shannon’s books to them.
***We ended with “Hearts Up.”***
Thank you, Shannon, for your presence, love, and light . You can follow Shannon @ shannonisteaching.com.
