The Benton Central girls basketball team played two games last week. They faced off against the Logansport Berries on Friday and won 69-24, almost scoring 70 points. Junior McKenna Yadon scored 17 points and Junior Azlee Reynolds had 16. Then the Lady Bison took on East Chicago Central on Saturday and beat them 59-34 in a blowout win. Senior Avery Hardebeck scored an impressive 23 points to lead the girls to victory. They scored a combined total of 128 points in just those two games.
Winning by a large margin isn’t new for the Lady Bison. In 13 of their 16 wins this season, they’ve won by double digits. And in 10 of those wins, they’ve won by 20 or more points. With their two wins last week, the girls improved to 16-7 on the season.
In two weeks, on February 7th, the girls will compete in their Sectional. If they can continue their dominant play, the Lady Bison will have a successful end to their season.
