The Benton Central Varsity softball team had a difficult season a year ago. They finished with a 1-17 record and went 0-9 against conference opponents. But this year, the girls are off to a strong start.
On Tuesday, April 8th, the Varsity softball team opened their season at Central Catholic. They stomped CC in a 13-7 victory thanks to a phenomenal 7th inning where they scored seven runs. Freshman Chloe Linder and Senior Hunter Biddle led the team with three hits each and seven combined RBIs. Pitching for the Lady Bison was Sophomore Reagan Dowell, who had five strikeouts and only gave up two walks last night, picking up her first win of the season.
The softball team will play in their home opener against Carrol on Thursday. Be there to cheer on the Lady Bison and witness a much-improved team!
