On Monday, April 28th, the Benton Central Varsity baseball team took on the Fountain Central Mustangs. BC was coming off a brutal series against Logansport, where they got swept. But they bounced back with a 16-6 non-conference victory against Fountain Central.
The Bison racked up 13 total hits, with three from junior Spencer Flook. Eight Benton Central batters finished with a hit. Pitching for the Bison was a team effort, as sophomore Nolan Winkler, junior Kamren Ryder, and junior Rocky Ellis all threw on the mound. They allowed six runs and six hits to fend off the Mustangs’ offense and finish the game in just five innings.
The highlight of the game was senior Kaydric Tyson’s home run. Kayrdic blasted the ball over the fence for Benton Central’s second home run of the season. Hitting a home run is something most kids can only dream of, so congratulations to Kaydric on achieving such a profound milestone.
