The Lady Bison softball team has been occupied this week. They’ve played five games thus far, and senior night is still to come. Most recently, they took on the Twin Lakes in a conference series against the Indians.
Their first matchup was a high-scoring affair as BC came out on top in an 11-9 victory. Sophomore Regan Dowell pitched the entire game and finished with three strikeouts to fend off the Indians’ dangerous offense. But the Lady Bison won on the backs of their offense. They put together one of their best batting performances of the season, finishing with 11 total hits. Sophomore Madison Minniear played a phenomenal game with four hits, five RBIs, and a home run. Her performance played a major part in BC’s fourth victory this season.
In their second matchup, the Lady Bison traveled to Twin Lakes. The result wasn’t what they hoped for as BC lost 12-7 in yet another high-scoring game. Twin Lakes tallied 13 hits, and their offense was just too much for the Lady Bison to handle.
After their conference series with the Indians, Benton Central now holds a 4-8 record. They will shift their attention to senior night, which is May 1 against Central Catholic.
