The varsity girls golf team has had a thrilling start to their season! They went into their season with 13 players, which is very exciting! This year the team has five seniors; Makenna Kuntz, Hannah Bice, Harper Harrell, Shayne Alaniz, and Ella Budreau. These five players along with the other 8, have made an immense amount of noticeable improvement both in their skills and personal scores. Recently the team has collected multiple wins and is currently 7-2, with a couple players being awarded low medalist. Congratulations to Makenna Kuntz (12), Hannah Bice (12), Cora Atkinson (11), and Bella Bauer (9), for their notable low scoring rounds. In the next couple upcoming weeks the girls have a few more matches and then are headed to Harrison Hills (Attica) to compete in sectionals, towards the end of September. Last year, the team just fell short of moving on past sectionals, by only 7 strokes. However, the combined scores have made great improvement this season, meaning the odds of the team making it out of our sectional and getting the opportunity to play in regionals at Battleground, are looking good! Wish the girls good luck with the rest of their season, it could be a very exciting end to their season!
