Currently, Benton Central offers over forty dual-credit classes. A dual credit class is college-level coursework that allows high school students to earn both high school credit and college credit simultaneously, toward a college degree or technical certificate.
Courses include Introduction to Agriculture, Animal Sciences, Adv Plant/Soil Sciences, Anatomy and Physiology 1, Basic Automotive Service, Electrical Systems 1, Brake Systems, Steering and Suspension System, Engine Performance Systems 1, Engine Fundamentals and Repair, Human Biology, Introductory Biology, Biology 1 Molec/Cellular, Introduction to Business, Intro to Personal Communication, Intro to Design Technology, Mechanical Graphics, Architectural Design 1, Intro to Early Childhood Ed, Intro to Teaching and Learning, English Composition, Introduction to Literature, Technical Writing, Rhetoric and Argument, French Levels 1 and 3, Survey of American History 1 and 2, Intro to Healthcare, Medical Terminology, CNA Preparation, Career Exploration, Quantitative Reasoning, College Algebra, Calculus 1, Introduction to American Government, Earth Science, Spanish Level 1, Design Fundamentals, and Raster Graphics 1.
The main courses taught here at Benton Central are the Automotive Program classes, our CNA preparation classes, Business Classes, and other CTE programs like Agriculture. Our CTE teachers include Ms. Taylor, Mr. Weitlauf, Mrs. Huff, Mr. Corns, Mrs. Thornbrough, Mr. Slavens, and many others.
Some Dual Credit Classes that have not been created yet include Fundamentals of Marketing, Advanced Communication and Literature, Principles of Teaching, and several math classes.
