Vision for Spanish Club
When I think of Spanish Club, I think of opportunity. I think of opportunities beyond what you can gain in a classroom. Vulnerability, in the way that we’re all new to something, but we all want to know more. I see smiles, laughter, and fun. It’s not about being perfect there, but it’s about being open to change and loving even when it’s hard to be.
I love Spanish Club because of this vision. I want that to be the reality, and I know it can be. If you assimilate with these qualities and are a high schooler in Spanish or have been in Spanish previously, consider coming to a meeting. We would love to see some new faces!
Recent Events for Spanish Club
The Spanish Club has started the year off strong! We have all come together in many ways and have lots of hope for the year. This past weekend, the weekend of September 1, we set up a small table at the Dan Patch Rodeo. At our table, we helped entertain the kids who had come to the rodeo. We had facepainting, bracelet making, and goodies for those who stopped by! It was truly a great experience, and each and every member had so much fun helping and being with the kids. Thank you to all the parents who let their kids join in on a fun experience and allowed us to learn from each and every encounter.
The bulletin board for the Spanish Club, across Mrs. Morales’ room to the left, was just recently updated. It depicts a map of several Spanish Countries that celebrate their independence this month and the following. It’s important to recognize other countries in their independence, because it can help us understand more about their culture and traditions, which is vital to the Spanish Club. I believe it also helps us to be more aware of others’ circumstances and show love and compassion towards aspects of other areas that may seem so much different than our own.
Hopes for this year
I have so much hope for this year and even the following years to come. The Spanish Club has generated so many great ideas for the year. I hope that each and every one is able to be carried out! I love how hopeful and inspired everyone is at our meetings, with so many goals and requests for the club. This November for Día De Los Muertos, Day of the Dead, we hope to create a Spanish-inspired ofrenda, offering, table for people to see and learn more about the Spanish Culture. We also would love to be seen selling Spanish, homemade baked goods at Benton Central Sporting Events. There are so many more ideas that we plan to incorporate into the year, but these are a couple for the following months.
Please contact me if you have questions about our club. I look forward to a great year of learning and fun. Thank you for reading this article about Spanish Club!
