Head Coach James Warf celebrates a senior night victory
Tuesday night, the boys’ soccer team hosted the North White Vikings for their senior night. Coming into the game, the Bison had a record of 11-5 and were playing their final home game of the season, and they put on a show. Two goals flew in during the first half, and the boys followed it up with 2 more in the second. Star forward Zed Bennett started off the night with a goal to put the Bison up 1-0, and freshman Izzy Roberson added on to that with a goal in the literal last second of the first half. Senior Rocky Ellis came out guns blazing in the second, scoring in the first two minutes of the second half, with Rowan Heim adding the final goal on BC’s field for the year. Through a night of emotion and pressure, the Bison rose to the occasion with a little help from their student section, cheering the boys on all night. With this final regular season win, your Benton Central Bison finish the season with a record-breaking 12-5, and an astonishing 6-0 at home, setting the record for being the first undefeated season at home. One last record for the night was goalie Nolan Winkler obtaining his 8th clean sheet on the season, tying the record set in the previous season. Be sure to continue cheering on our historical boys on Wednesday, October 8th, as they begin their sectional journey.
