On Friday, December 6th, our Business Professionals of America club is attending BPA Regionals at Ivy Tech in Lafayette. Each member competes in two contests to see if they advance to the state competition in March. If they advance to nationals, they will have the opportunity to compete in Orlando, Florida! We decided to interview members, President Hannah Byers and member Bella Holder, to get their take on their upcoming competition.

How are you going to prepare yourself for the upcoming competition?

Hannah Byers said, “I do a lot of research with hospitals because my topic is healthcare research and I talk to professionals in the healthcare field. Also, I spend a lot of time practicing my presentation.”

Bella Holder said, “I am going to work really hard and focus on my competitions.”

What events are you competing in?

Hannah Byers said, “I am participating in the health research presentation and small business management presentation.”

Bella Holder said, “I am competing in Human Resources and Marketing Team.”

What do you have to do for your events?

Hannah Byers said, “You just have to present for 10 minutes about both topics.”

Bella Holder said, “For the marketing team I have to make a marketing plan and presentation with my team. And for HR, I will get an ethical case and plan what I am going to do within the business and present it to the judges.”
