The Benton Central softball team took on the Frontier Falcons on Thursday, May 19th. Entering the game, the Lady Bison were on a four-game losing streak. They bounced back in a dominant 12-2 victory over the Falcons.
On the mound for the Lady Bison was freshman Chloe Linder. Linder pitched all five innings, only allowing two runs, and racking up six strikeouts. Her performance was quite impressive, especially for a freshman. The bats were also going for BC as they tallied eight hits. Sophomores Madison Minniear and Reagan Dowell led the team with two hits apiece, along with freshman Kennedy Dowell, who also finished with two. Junior Izzy Adams and sophomore Julianna Sobrey each got a hit as well to help the Lady Bison reach 12 runs.
This win moves Benton Central to a 7-19 record, which is a massive improvement from their 1-win season a year ago. Hopefully, the girls can ride this momentum into a road game against Pioneer on Thursday.
