The Benton Central boys’ basketball team played in the IU Health Hoops Classic tournament last week. The team went 1-2 in their 3 games. They lost 74-46 to Harrison on Tuesday in a rough game. BC struggled to get their offense going against a really good Harrison team. In their second game, they took on the Central Catholic Knights. CC won 54-50 in a tight, back-and-forth game. Hunter Sisson led the Bison in scoring with 20 points, followed by Colby Dixon and Adam Foster who both had 10. Their final game was against the Rensselaer Bombers. This time, the Bison were victorious, beating Rensselaer 62-49 as Hunter Sisson led the way scoring 29 points. They celebrated in the locker room by spraying Coach Lambeck with their water bottles.
Apart from the games, a few Bison players took home some awards. Senior Kolton Watt was awarded the IU Health Hoops Classic Academic Award. Then Senior Hunter Sisson and Sophomore Adam Foster received the Sportsmanship Award on separate days of the tournament.
Congratulations to Hunter, Adam, and Kolton on receiving their awards!
