The Benton Central Lady Bison tennis team has had a great start to their season. Their away game at West Lafayette in the Hoosier Conference left them with an impressive victory! A solid 3-2 win on Thursday, April 9th.
The team was powered by outstanding performances in all three singles spots. At #1 Singles, Violet Hardebeck led the way with an outstanding 6-2, 6-0 victory. Emma Hinds fought through a tough competitive opening set at #2 Singles, coming away with a 7-6 (7-1), 6-2 win. Taryn Klemme rounded out the sweep at #3 Singles in dominant fashion, winning 6-0, 6-0. With the win, Benton Central moves to 2-0 on the season and continues to gain early momentum in conference competition.
The Lady Bison were back in action Saturday at the Logansport Invitational, where the varsity team of Violet Harebeck, Olivia Hardebeck, Skyler Smith, Taryn Klemme, Emma Hinds, Keely Watt, Rayna Werner, and Kara Schieler delivered a strong performance finishing 2nd out of 8 teams. Emma Hinds and Taryn Klemme each earned first-place finishes at #2 and #3 Singles.
