January 14th was a big day for Benton Central seniors. The Indiana University traveled to BC to highlight and publicize the accomplishments of 17 of our very own seniors. During lunch, IU representatives announced their admissions decisions early, for our select seniors who applied. Why did IU choose to do a pre-acceptance event at BC? IU chose Benton Central for this exciting event because BC had a significantly high student acceptance rate, compared to other high schools in the state of Indiana. Also, BC is the only high school in Indiana who shares a mascot with IU, the Bison! During the pre-acceptance event, IU representatives announced the recipients of the university’s $10,000 scholarships. Every one of our Benton Central seniors who live in Benton County and got accepted into the university will receive this scholarship to put toward their tuition next fall. To top it all off, the university brought IU cookies for the entire junior and senior classes! The following students were given their acceptance letters: Isabelle Adams, Hannah Bice, Shayne Alaniz, Ella Creek, Harper Harrell, Frederick Haas, Kyra Jaworski-Kraud, Jorge Escobar Compean, Makenna Kuntz, Maiya Mohammed, Maddie Peterson , Samiyah Rich, Isabel Sayre, Bennett Senesac, Abbygail Troman, Madelyn Williams, and Caden Wilson.
