While everyone at Benton Central was enjoying their Winter Break, plenty of sporting events took place. Here’s a recap of everything you might have missed!
Basketball (Boys V)
On December 21st, the first day of break, the boys’ basketball team played in Lafayette against Jefferson High School. The Jefferson Broncos were a formidable opponent with an 8-2 record and ranked 34th in the state. BC fell short in a 71-32 loss.
Then on the 28th, the Bison traveled to the historic Hatchet House to take on Washington High School. Washington is 8-1 and is ranked 46th in the state of Indiana, so they’re a tough opponent. Senior Colby Dixon scored 18 points, but it wasn’t enough as BC lost 66-39.

A couple of clutch free throws from Senior Hunter Sisson and Sophomore Rowan Heim secured the 54-51 victory for BC. This win moved the Bison to a 4-6 overall record.
