The Bison end their season with a record of 27-6. Head Coach Scott Mattson began coaching at Benton Central when these seniors were freshmen, and currently, they have a combined record of 117-17.
Before the match, Benton Central English teacher Melissa Knox was awarded the IHSAA Champion of Education Award. Her daughter, Amara Knox, was present to receive the award for her mother. The IHSAA provided the following information: Melissa Knox is an English teacher at Benton Central Jr-Sr High School. Melissa’s impact has been wide-ranging, and she does her best to make a connection with every student that walks through her door. Her caring heart and optimistic spirit transforms the classroom from a place of instruction into a genuine community, and her ability to make each student feel seen and valued is a true gift!
Congratulations to Mrs. Knox and the Lady Bison Volleyball Program on a record-breaking season!
