Letters are flying and nerves are rising as our Benton Central Theater is working on The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! This play will not only give you new songs for your playlist but let you laugh at our six students competing to win their spelling bee.
Be sure to support them April 23-25th at 7pm at the Benton Central Auditorium. Make sure to bring $8 for your ticket!
Molly Sission as Olive Ostrovsky: the newest comer to spelling bee. With her mother in India and her father working late, her only friend left is her dictionary helping her through the competition.
Rowan Drake as William Barfee: the Putnam County Spelling Bee finalist last year, being eliminated because of his allergy to peanuts. This year William is ready to win the spelling bee with his unique spelling methods.
Elise Millikan as Logainne SchwartzandGrubenierre: not only is she the youngest of the crew but also the most politically aware. With the pressure of her parents disowning her Logainne is determined to win.
Katherine Shaver as Marcy Park: a recent transfer from Virginia and placing 9th place in last years national spelling bee Marcy is also also fluent in 6 different languages! This total over-achiever is ready for the spelling bee!
Mark Carrillo-Viveros as Leaf Coneybear: while he is homeschooled, this doesn’t stop leaf from being the second runner up last year. Coming from his large family he gets easily distracted making him doubt his intelligence.
Devin Beasuoleil as Chip Tolentino: this Boy Scout is also the 24th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee champion is coming back to reclaim his title once again. As he is social and athletic he tends to have a bit of a disruption during this spelling bee…
Akasha Powell as Rona Lisa Peretti: this sweet women with her love of children is judging this spelling bee! The number one realtor in Putnam County comes back after her victory from the 3rd Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee!
Charles Troyer as Vice Prin. Douglas is coming back after 5 years is our word pronouncer in this comedy. After having an “incident” during the 20th Annual Bee he is ready to hold this years spelling bee with his love interest of Rona.
Kalli Burton as Mitch Mahoney is coming to the spelling bee to serve his community service hours. The Official Comfort Counselor comforting the loosing children.
